Job description, responsibilities and duties

Supporting maintenance of the global HR application landscape from a system administration perspective.
Assures the availability and stability of the ADIENT internal HR applications and the underlying infrastructure including all components needed for integrations to internal and external ADIENT or service provider applications.
Works closely together with other global IT teams such as Global Infrastructure or Enterprise Integrations to assure the overall availability of the global HR applications including any needed internal and external connectivity. The lead is responsible for providing direction, guidance and support to other System Administrators in different regions and also responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with the team as well as customers and end users.
 
Primary Duties:

Leads a global team of System Administrators to cover system support for all needed time zones.
Works closely with IT Project Manager and/or IT Business Analyst to identify application support requirements.  Ensures solutions are production-ready with safe and secure operations, high availability and reliable performance before handoff.
Coordinates the Disaster Recovery activities and maintains Disaster Recovery plans for applications supported by the Global HRIT team.
Assures SOX compliance of the supported systems working closely with the Business Partners as with internal audit.
Leads projects to implement new or replace existing IT infrastructure components such as server hardware, database systems or middleware and web server components.
Establishes and supports effective system monitoring processes to assure system availability and performance.
Manages the application change management process as it relates to the migration of application changes between development, test and production systems.
Owns the process of security access requests regarding access to the operating system or database layer of the applications, following the overall access request approval process for HR applications.
Provides hands-on application and infrastructure support as needed.
Supports and monitors all integrations from/to the HCM system.
* Communicates with the Hosting Services team to assure the appropriate SLA’s are in place.

Personality requirements and skills

* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related discipline.
* At least 8 years of experience in application change management, system and database administration.
* At least 3 years of experience as a first line supervisor in a technical environment.  Proven ability to manage technical teams to complete technology-based deliverables on-time and within budget. Proven ability to mentor others in the technical aspects of information systems task work.
* Proven ability to work effectively in a complex, matrix organization within a multi-national company. 
* Strong project management background with expertise in project planning and execution. 
* Thorough understanding of applications development methodologies, standards and best practices.
* Advanced skills with DBMS systems such as Oracle and operating systems (Windows and Linux mandatory).
* Proven understanding of cultural differences and ability to impact across cultures.
* Strong customer-focused and excellence-driven track record.  Demonstrated understanding of customer driven products, services and solutions.
* Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to present technical matters in a simple, clear and concise manner to the targeted audience.  Proven ability to communicate effectively with colleagues who use English as a second language.
* Must be fluent in English, other languages a plus.
