Job description, responsibilities and duties
We have an exciting opportunity to work for a new automotive Company in the Nitra region. We are hiring for the position of SUPPLIER TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE – CURRENT CAR ENGINEER (Interior Trim or Powertrain).
The STA function is responsible for the capacity and quality performance of all new product and current vehicle suppliers and performs an important role within the Purchasing Department. The current car engineer is responsible for supplier quality and delivery performance on vehicles in volume production.
Main Responsibilities:
Current Car Supplier Quality Performance:
- Manage supplier performance through robust application of agreed customer and supplier metric monitoring, reporting and action planning
- Lead supplier concern resolution processes where escalated from Plant STA to Site STA ownership
- Work closely with Plant & Launch STA to drive supplier improvement activities to deliver required performance metrics in OEM plants (Right First Time, Premium Customer Perception Audit etc) transitioning from the launch phase of new product into current vehicle production
Current Car Supplier Delivery Performance:
- Manage supplier performance through robust application of agreed customer and supplier metric monitoring, reporting and action planning
- Lead supplier concern resolution processes where escalated from Plant STA to Site STA ownership
- Work closely with Plant & Launch STA to drive supplier improvement activities to deliver required performance metrics in OEM plants (Losses \ Misfits \ DCI Compliance) transitioning from the launch phase of new product into current vehicle production
- Support emergency concept development in suppliers & validate robustness
Supplier Problem Solving Capability Improvement:
- Champion the use of structured problem solving tools in the supply base
- Develop your own expertise in structured problem solving tools and develop the problem solving capability of targeted suppliers
Supplier Warranty Performance:
- Support the dedicated STA warranty teams with technically complex issues arising from supplier manufacturing process

- Experience in manufacturing \ quality \ supplier development functions of highly technical industries (Automotive, Aerospace, FMCG, Engineering)
- Self-motivated & able to work on their own initiative, often away from home office as the senior representative of the Company in a supplier facility
- Languages - Strong business knowledge of English is required. Business knowledge of Polish, Czech, Hungarian, Romanian or German is desirable
- Full Driving license with no restrictions for driving within Europe
- Qualified to degree level within engineering or business discipline
- Willingness to undertake regular travel
- Strong working knowledge of leading teams through complex problem solving activities using structured problem solving tools (8D, 5Y, DMAIC, etc)
