Job description, responsibilities and duties

We are looking for a skilled bookkeeper responsible for a variety of accounting functions of moderate complexity to ensure accurate, timely and complete recording of financial transactions, including purchases, sales and accounts receivable/payable.

- Preparing payments
- Processing invoices and accounts payable
- Processing expense reports
- Record day to day financial transactions
- Verify correct record of transactions in day book (suppliers/ customer/general) ledgers
- Prepares and analyzes balance sheet reconciliations as well as performing month end closing tasks of moderate complexity to ensure accurate, timely and complete management information
- Responsible for completion of tax forms
- Processes individual salary/rate adjustments or other changes affecting employees payroll status including new hires, transfers, lay-offs, termination, paid or unpaid leaves and related actions
- Maintains individual payroll files and records, distributes payrolls and prepares annual income statements
- Assist and support Financial Controller

Requirements for the employee

Candidates with education suit the position

Secondary with school-leaving examination
Follow-up/Higher Professional Education
University education (Bachelor's degree)
University education (Master's degree)

Educational Specialization

Business administration / Economics

Language skills

English - Intermediate (B1) or
German - Intermediate (B1)

Computer skills - user

Microsoft Excel - advanced

Personality requirements and skills

Language skills:
English – advanced in speech and writing needed OR
German (preferred)

Formal Education Requirement:
• University education preferably in Business administration OR Economics or Secondary education in Economics
• At least 1 year experience in accountancy and controlling, preferably within an international company
• Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable/receivable principles
• Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records

• Knowledge of MS Office suite, including MS Excel
• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
• Experience in working with an ERP system is preferred
• Self starter, can work autonomously
• Experience in dealing with multinational colleagues
• Has a structured way of working
• Team player with constructive courage to execute change while nurturing positive relationships
