Our opportunity

 

The Insurance Accounting Specialist is responsible for the reconciliation and settlement process between cedents (fronting company) and reinsurers (Producing Company). In order to be successful in this role solid relationships with cedents and reinsurers have to be built.

 
Your role
 
As a Senior Insurance Accounting Specialist your main responsibilities will involve:
* Assisting the team to ensure that accounting processes and procedures are followed and completed to support and reinforce key Business objectives

* Supporting various types of general and/or sub-ledger transactions relevant for Group reporting as well local and globally accepted Accounting Principles reporting

* Prepare or review ledger reports and explain the results
* Perform or review close related ledger tasks, e.g. accruals, provisions, journals postings
* Prepare or review accounts reconciliations on timely basis in accordance with Group internal control Guidelines
* Maintain one or more ledger categories/chart of accounts as a regular part of daily work
* Perform and review SOX controls in line with Group internal Guidelines
* Participate in local projects or initiatives, evaluates potential impact on local reporting units, performs local implementation of changes

 

Your Skills and Experience
 
As a Senior Insurance Accounting Specialist your skills and qualifications will ideally include:
* Associate’s/Technical degree (or equivalent) in Accounting and 3 to 5 years of experience in related field
* Insurance or reinsurance experience within international Environment
* Good accounting knowledge in respect of Sub-Ledger and General-Ledger (SAP FSCD desired)
* Fluent English, additional languages would be a plus
* Good oral and written communication skills
* High degree of flexibility
* Problem solving skills
* Ability to work within tight deadlines
* PC literate with advanced MS Office skills
