Server & Storage IT Technical Services Engineer

The IT system administrator will be responsible for the Server & Storage environment in our offices & techcenter in the region EU&SA

Tasks:
- Support the virtual environment, the SAN and the local servers
- Take care of the network environment in collaboration with our service partners
- Tracking and processing of support tickets
- Analyze and resolve infrastructure problems, develop and implement corrective solutions
- Focus on excellent customer service
- Application of best practices and standards
- Participation in the development of long-term strategies for future infrastructure standards
- On-site support of infrastructure in satellite offices within EMEA (focus on Germany and Eastern Europe)
- In addition to the above tasks other activities and responsibilities can be defined individually

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline or similar education
- At least five years of professional experience in a similar role
- Good knowledge in English in word and writing.
- Experienced in virtual server environment, incl. good knowledge of actual Microsoft operating systems and standards
- Excellent knowledge of the current version of VMware vCenter / ESXi
- Experienced in dealing with EMC storage systems and FC switches
- Knowledge of EMC networker
- Knowledge of cisco switches
- Strong customer service orientation
- Ability to communicate relevant information in a user-friendly non-technical language
- Ability to prioritize workload, to work independently even under heavy workloads
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
- Experience of working in a team oriented environment.
- VM Ware certifications (VCA, VCP) and Microsoft certifications would be an advantage
