Job description, responsibilities and duties

The team of business analysts is responsible for the business aspects of global IT projects, focusing on Financial Accounting applications such as General Ledger (ERP), Invoice Processing and Payment Platforms.

The position holder is accountable for supporting and contributing to IT solutions which meet the strategic, financial and operational needs of Swiss Re stakeholders and to support business partners. You will be involved in all steps of the project. Similarly, you will be involved in the entire application lifecycle after the project including the change management, support and maintenance of the delivered solutions.

• Help gather, document and clarify business requirements
• Participate in creating and refining technical specification documents.
• Work closely with programmers in the realisation phase and ensure correct understanding and implementation of business requirements
• Develop a working understanding of the business applications and the functional processes they support
• Develop a good understanding of the business functions and related processes
• Work on sub-projects and change requests together with a project lead or expert business analyst
• Prepare test cases, carry out IT testing and participate in UAT
• Contribution to the respective change management process
• High level of maintenance and support. Guarantee a high application availability
• Perform other position related tasks as instructed by Supervisor

• Provide cover for roles in other teams
• Provide standby duties when required

Requirements for the employee

Candidates with education suit the position

University education (Bachelor's degree)
University education (Master's degree)

Language skills

English - Upper intermediate (B2)

Personality requirements and skills

• Bachelor or Master degree in technical, financial or business field
• 0+ years or relevant work experience
• Very good oral and written communication skills in English
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• High level of abstraction, fast understanding and conceptual thinking
• Team player able to deliver high performance when working in the team but also when working independently
• Good understanding of the key aspects of the application lifecycle such as planning, designing, implementing, testing and releasing new versions
• Experience in the area of application integration, database and reporting
• Good knowledge of MS Office and SQL
• Good communication and presentation skills.
• Diligent and accurate working style
• Ability to analyse and solve business and IT issues
• Ability to work under pressure
• Flexible and openness for new tasks with mind set for continuous learning.
