Job description, responsibilities and duties

RESPONSIBILITIES
· Overall accountable for end-to-end delivery of projects, design and quality of solutions.
· Provide directional inputs for the project team in development and design.
· Work on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.
· Exercises judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
· Network with key contacts outside own area of expertise. Understands implications of work and makes recommendations for solutions.
· Represent solutions to the customers and stakeholders at business reviews, and other critical meetings, for the overall delivery aspects and quality of delivery.
· Provide accurate and timely updates to required stakeholders.
· Perform project reviews on a consistent basis to ensure project delivery is on time and on budget.
· Participate in review of work products such as code, designs, and test plans produced by team members.
· Manage staff in accordance with organization’s policies and applicable legislation. Responsibilities include planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance and guiding professional development; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing employee relations issues and resolving problems. Approve actions on human resources matters, including salary administration
· Independently handle personnel issues, conflict management, define goals that increase knowledge and skills of staff, and define staff expectations, without involvement of senior managers
· Contribute to discussions on implementation of IT strategy on a regional basis and implement objectives, as appropriate. Ensure staff have a consistent understanding and positive impression of business strategy for regional and global objectives
· Ensure adherence to IT standards and procedures. Ensure all work meets computer systems validation requirements, and that any issues identified in QA or customer audits are properly addressed
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
· Strong staff management skills and the ability to effectively manage teams
· Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, managers and clients
· Hands-on experience in application development or data warehouse development.
· Familiarity with Agile development methodology.
· Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new environments.
· Self-driven and motivated individual that takes pride in the development of high quality, on time, within budget projects.

MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
· Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field; with 7 years IT experience including project management or systems analysis with team lead or supervisory experience or equivalent combination of education, training and Experience.

DESIRED ADDITIONAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
· Knowledge of clinical data used for clinical drug development.
· Experience with the clinical drug development industry, procedures, and regulatory standards.
· Familiarity with Quality Center, Agile methodologies a plus.
· Proficiency in web services and data services development is a plus.
· Experience with Data Warehousing, Business Intelligence, and Visualization tools/applications a strong plus
