Job description, responsibilities and duties

• Develops and delivers Unix/Linux systems, storage and backup technologies that includes future objectives as well as maintenance and optimization of the existing service portfolio.
• Delivers Unix/Linux, Storage and Backup solutions, through adherence to the organizations and IT’s policies and procedures.
• Based on assignment - represents the Infrastructure team in the IT governance processes, facilitates project review and approvals, manages how her/his resources are being allocated, and ensure projects are completed in timely manner. Ability to provide status updates on running projects.
• Able to undertake technical research and analysis, in any Unix/Linux, Storage and Backup technology and provide objective assessment, to facilitate improvements and enhancements to existing Unix/Linux, Storage and Backup technology within ON Semiconductor, as well as introducing new technology as part of the organization roadmap.
• Develops and maintains a strong working relationship with peers within Global Infrastructure Services, as well as rest of the key IT organizations, such PMO, Security, Risk and Compliance, Enterprise Applications and CIM to deliver key solutions to support achieving the business goals of the client organizations.
• Ensures compliance to IT General Controls, company working rules, applicable legislation, company quality policy and company requirements in the area of working safety and health protection, fire protection and environmental policy, and participates in continuous improvement in these areas
• Collaborates with the team in selection of efficient and cost-effective technologies, tools and techniques, technical standardization within the managed organization, adherence to industry standards and best practices and continuous improvement. Engages existing vendors for improvements and enhancements, including identifying new solution providers for new technology deployment.
• Supports, contributes and take ownership of infrastructure projects related to integration of acquired businesses, primarily in the area of integrating foundational Infrastructure. Ability to support IT projects as IT Infrastructure Manager.
• Supports asset inventory, support, and lifecycle evidence over the appropriate set of tools and keep all documentation and systems up to date.
• Supports all escalations for assigned areas and participate on Incident/Request/Change delivery.
• Participation on technical duty rotation based on assignment.
• Supports standardization efforts, and able to influence peers, taking into account the IT Strategy and ON Semiconductor’s business goals.

Personality requirements and skills

• A minimum of two years or more of storage and backup infrastructure experience is required.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science is required. Master’s degree will be preferred.
• Fluent English (written and verbal).
• Any level of general Unix/Linux, Storage and Backup certification with strong orientation for Unix/Linux, Storage and backup technology. Additional experience with SUN Solaris, Oracle VM, cDOT/8mode Ontap OS and CommVault backup technology will be considered.
• Appropriate piece of network experience for NFS, CIFS, iSCSI, FC, LACP support is needed.
• Experience with ITIL, DIMAC, 8D
• Team player.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
