Web Threats Analyst

The main objective of this position is to help finding new sources of malware where the origin/attack vector is web. The typical scenarios include BlackHat SEO and use of automated Exploit Packs. The role of a Web Threat Analyst is look for these threats, identify fresh BHSEO campaigns and locations of bad stuff (domains, IP ranges) in order to be able to spot fresh campaigns as soon as possible. It is expected that quite a lot of manual work will be needed at least in the early stages. This is a research & development type of work, the malware scene changes all the time, we need to adopt and reflect as soon as possible.

In a later stage of this position one can focus on identifying distributions patterns and suggest/implement automated crawling of such malware. It is possible that the analyst gets involved in the blocking/detection process, where a number of technologies can be used: scripts-dedicated detection, algorithmic detection, usage of reputation system and whatever web reputation metadata (domains/ASNs/IP blocks). An expert Web Threats Analyst can suggest/assist in designing new ways of detection.
