Job Description
The Storage Engineer focuses on continuous operation of Helion VPC storage and SAN environment in the EMEA region. The main responsibility is to ensure data storage consistency, availability, recoverability and performance.
The main storage arrays are HPE 3PAR and EVA. SANs are based around HPE StoreFabric B-series (Brocade) products. NAS storage is based on NetApp products.
The Storage Engineer works on solving and preventing incidents, problems, maintain the storage and SAN environment in supported configuration, helps develop storage concepts (software/hardware), configures new implementations, consults engineering, architecture and customer, keeps contact with the customer representatives and provides monthly SLA reporting and metrics on demand internally or to customer representatives.
To fulfil these tasks, regular standby and week-end work is expected.
Main responsibilities
• Provide technical support and leadership in a complex mission critical infrastructure environments
• Ensure that services under your responsibility are delivered according to the Service description (SLO and SLA)
• Closely cooperate with other technology teams to establish implementation plans for changes, projects, backup&recovery and DR tests
• Ensure components supported are maintained, optimized and used effectively
• Is responsible for full cycle development, deployment to go-live, live phase and end-of-life
• Ensure compliance with HPE internal technology standards and solutions
• Act as the change planner and/or change implementer

• 2 years practical experience in managing large SAN Fabrics
• Strong technical experience in one or more of Windows server OS, Linux server OS, VMware
• Good understanding of high availability environments – both SAN and storage
• Exceptional communications skills, both verbal and written in English
• Analytical problem-solving and root cause analysis skills
