Job Description

In this position, candidate will be working on the Virtual Private Cloud computing applications. The  candidate will have several key responsibilities like development of software for the maintenance and smooth running of the cloud environment, regularly lead cross functional Teams with product development, engineering Architects and delivery teams to understand current production issues in Infrastructure and SW and resolve those issues in multiple cloud data centers and development of tools for enhancing the performance of Virtual Private Cloud. 
 

Requirements

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Demonstrates ability to develop solutions that can be used cross Cloud customer to enhance the availability, performance, maintainability and agility of their enterprise. Develops reusable solutions and workarounds that are innovative and demonstrate a deep technical knowledge of the affected products, processes, and environment. Breadth of knowledge covers additional business units, third parties, competitors, and business drivers.
  • Recognized as an advanced subject matter expert of Information Technology (IT) products, applied technologies and processes, combining vendor interoperability knowledge pertaining to complex IT infrastructures and SW for automation and Management.
  • Holds a vendor or industry certification in more than one discipline area.
  • Software Development: 10+ years of hands-on software design and development experience Java, J2EE and Oracle. XML including development/maintenance of XML parsers. Expert SW troubleshooting, problem solving and analysis skills. Experience with full software development life-cycle, preferably Agile and/or Iterative methods
  • Infrastructure Administration: 6+ year Linux / Windows Administration, Network and Storage Mgmt experience e.g. on HP Infrastructure. Expert Infrastructure troubleshooting, problem solving and analysis skills.  
  • Analytical Approach: Structured approaches to identifying and resolving issues
  • Project Analysis: Experience at analyzing requirements to estimate the effort of complex solutions
  • Knowledge sharing: Strong ability to share/document learning's gained through Troubleshooting and train Team Members and Cross Team as required.
  • Communication: Good written/verbal English communication,
  • Process: software change management, testing and code documentation skills. Understanding of ITIL incident/problem and change management processes is an advantage  
  • Education: M.S. in Computing Science, Computing Engineering, SW Development or related fields.
  • Domain expertise in operations, cloud deployments, virtualization, networks, IT, and systems
  • Broad knowledge of build, integration, deployment, provisioning, and monitoring utilities, e.g. HP Operations, HP Server Automation
  • Experience running high-availability production environments
  • Knowledge of web server configuration, enterprise website operations, and security
  • Experience with service-based architectures, or similar developments
  • Works with minimal guidance on improving the Virtual Cloud Service Provisioning and Operation Success.

 

Additional Skills (one or more a plus):

  • Strong Cross Team Leadership
  • Strong Team Player
  • System administration skills with either Linux scripting (Korn/BASH) or MS Windows (Powershell)
  • Expertise with Chef
  • Oracle 11g database SQL programming
  • Understanding of VMware ESX and/or Hyper-V Server management, VM provisioning, security and automation
  • Load balancer/firewall experiences - preferred Checkpoint or F5
