Job description, responsibilities and duties

The team fulfils a dynamic role including segment and group financial reporting, partnering with the business and supporting various governance and decision taking bodies within Corporate Solutions. On a daily basis, we have contact and collaborate with the various other finance functions (i.e. FP&A, Capital & Liquidity Management) as well as other areas of the business, such as Underwriting.

As a member of the team, we are looking for a highly motivated individual who will support the EVM financial reporting and consolidation process for the Business Unit Corporate Solutions.

The candidate should gain an understanding of Swiss Re's EVM concept and reporting as well as traditional re(insurance) and derivative business which will allow the candidate to analyse and explain deviations in financial results. A key responsibility will be the participation and support of the mid- and full-year EVM Legal Entity Sign Off (LESO) process and the evolution of an internal EVM valuation team; an interesting and challenging experience.

Working within the Finance Corporate Solution team, you will join a highly motivated and dynamic team within an interesting and complex environment and will get the opportunity to build up reporting, consolidation & analytical capabilities.

The Corporate Solutions Consolidation & Reporting team is responsible for consolidating the segment financial statements and commentaries for quarterly US GAAP and Economic Value Management reporting (EVM is an internal economic valuation of Swiss Re) and driving operational excellence in finance controlling and reporting activities.

Main tasks:
• Support the EVM finance manager in all processes and deliverables related to the quarterly EVM closing process and support further improvements on the overall process
• Develop an advanced understanding of economic value measurement for underwriting and investment activities and understand the differences compared to traditional valuation approaches
• Support other finance functions (i.e. FP&A, legal entity teams) with regards to internal EVM reporting deliverables
• Ensure an appropriate support to run an efficient overall EVM LESO process
• Evolve in a multi-disciplinary environment and work closely with finance and risk management experts to prepare the EVM financial result packages
• Ensure timely and accurate provision of EVM financials for the Business Unit
• Own the way you work and have the possibility to make a difference
• Facilitate, plan, maintain and enhance processes, timelines and reporting templates
• The ability to perform the above tasks with a high degree of autonomy, while leveraging on and working closely with all relevant stakeholders.
