Job description, responsibilities and duties

As Senior Financial Analyst, you will lead the financial analysis and reporting of the Primary Lead International Business. You will be responsible for the reconciliation of both Produced premium and local offices premium, in addition to being responsible for a timely, accurate and efficient analysis & reporting process. The ability to design and implement a disciplined monthly / annual reporting routine is essential in addition to providing clear performance results for the Primary Lead International Business programmes.

Ideally the candidate will have a basic understanding of International insurance programmes. The role will liaise with the Primary Lead team, Corporate Solutions Finance, and other functional areas as needed.

Main tasks:
• Monthly and quarterly analysis & reporting across multiple accounting valuations including USGAAP
• Ensure a timely, accurate and efficient programme consolidation process and support financial impact variance analysis for cohesive explanations of the Primary Lead results in close cooperation with Finance Corporate Solutions
• Prepare quarterly standard reports on aggregated data by Producing Office and Product area across Regions
• Support KPIs across multiple accounting valuations
• Produce the quarterly reports by Regions, carry on the programme consolidation and support in preparing the executive summary, liaising with Finance Corporate Solutions, CorView and other functions to ensure a coordinated approach
• Reconciliation of accounts as aligned to process controls
• Facilitate, plan, maintain and enhance processes, timelines and reporting templates

About the team:
The International Business Financial Management Team supports, monitors and in some areas leads cash flow management activities related to the central pooling carrier, including reinsurance cessions from local offices, producing office cessions and technical accounting and cession management to co-insurers (and potentially captives).

The Team is also responsible for reporting, analytics and commentaries regarding International Business, including monthly aged debt reports, monthly premium flows by Producing Office, and consolidation of accounts by client programme. The team is also responsible for the Primary Lead International Business and adherence to Swiss Re accounting policies, guidelines and directives.

• Corporate Solutions and Network Partner Local Offices world wide
• Reinsurance partners

Requirements for the employee

Candidates with education suit the position

University education (Bachelor's degree)
University education (Master's degree)
Postgraduate (Doctorate)

Language skills

English - Upper intermediate (B2)

Personality requirements and skills

o University graduate with primary or higher degree (or equivalent), preferable in finance/accounting/economics and with at least 2-3 years of relevant working experience in insurance/reinsurance
o Previous FP&A or Controlling experience desirable
o Excellent analytical skills with the ability to deliver quality output to short deadlines and manage details without losing sight of the "big picture"
o Strong communication skills, in particular ability to summarize complex technical issues to a non-expert audience, both written and verbal
o Capable of building trust with all areas of the business in particular with the Primary Lead teams Consolidation and Reporting and FP&A
o Ability to translate business initiatives into clear, actionable strategies
o Excellent MS Excel and PowerPoint skills with Visual Basic and MS Access knowledge desirable
o Excellent command of English (spoken and written)
o Excellent interpersonal with demonstrated ability to work well and build trust with others
o Experience in insurance and on personal accountability for areas of responsibility
o Stress resilient, with the ability to work independent
o International Travel required
