Job description, responsibilities and duties

In an international team of business analysts based in Switzerland and Slovakia you are responsible for the business aspects in a global IT system. You will liaise closely with other teams within Finance IT (Business Analysis and Application Engineering), Financial Accounting, Reinsurance Finance, CorSo Finance, Risk & Analytics and various projects.
You will work as an IT business analyst in the area of a budgeting & closing system for non-life (re-) insurance business.
Your main tasks are the design, development and rollout of new components as well as regular parametrizations and adoptions of existing financial processes. On the production side the main tasks will be to support the quarterly closing with special processes and to secure the daily data processing

• Work out, discuss and analyse the requirements for the new solutions and enhancements in close cooperation with business experts and IT
• Translate requirements into system specifications, covering all aspects of the new solution
• Work closely with the application engineers in the realisation phase and ensure correct understanding and implementation of business requirements
• Perform and document system and interface tests
• Document the solution, both for internal and external use
• Support the quarterly closing by executing special processes
• Monitoring, maintenance, user support of productive processes
• Perform system reconciliations, data quality checks and clean ups
• Manage assigned subprojects in above-mentioned fields independently
• Communicate with (international) user community and decision makers

Requirements for the employee

Candidates with education suit the position

University education (Bachelor's degree)
University education (Master's degree)

Personality requirements and skills

• University degree (Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Information Technology, Mathematics)
• Alternatively higher professional education (accounting, finance, data processing)
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Good communication skills
• Readiness for close teamwork
• Good knowledge in accounting
• Experience in insurance/reinsurance, technical or financial accounting would be an asset
• Experience in IT project work
• Good knowledge in MS Office (VBA experience in Access or Excel useful) and ideally SQL
• Good command of English; German would be an advantage
