Job description, responsibilities and duties
Our automotive client specialises in production of head restraints.
A Trim Engineer is required to provide direction to trim development, product design and various customers with respect to trim design execution, feasibility and quality.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Develop trim related processes to effectively and efficiently execute design goals and manage changes
• Review customer trim packages to verify feasibility
• Provide suggestions and solutions to trim related design issues
• Oversee accuracy of patterns, data and trim drawings
• Review newly developed trim products for acceptable appearance
• Develop best practices and lessons learned related to trim design and development
• Establish work plans, prioritize projects to meet customer and internal timing
• Provide direction/recommendations to foam design to ensure feasible trim design and development
• Monitor trim related open issues and provide solutions for closure
• Monitor sew processes and make recommendations for improvement
• Work closely with engineering, program management, sales and quality to ensure all designs meet customer expectations
• Assist sales department with trim quoting process
• Perform related trim operation duties as required

- Minimum of 10yrs experience working in a soft trim related field

- Must be professional and presentable
- Ability to attend and conduct presentations
- Travel required - possesses valid drivers license/passport/or working visa for U.S. travel
