Job description, responsibilities and duties

We have an exciting opportunity to work for a new automotive Company in the Nitra region. We are hiring for the position of Material Flow Engineer.
To support plant development and ongoing operations the logistics function requires the support of Logistics/Material Flow Engineers in design and implementation of material flow processes and equipment.

Main responsibilities:

• Design, development and implementation of Material Flow Systems in the Plant
• Create the material handing plan for every part (PFEP) - inside the Plant
• Design logistic area layouts, storage plans, warehouse areas, ASRS, detail material flow and equipment routing in shops, required equipment, interfaces with production and related processes
• Work with manufacturing facilities to ensure efficient logistics planning in line
• Create and lead cross functional teams in designing technical solutions (equipment, layouts, handling) for parts handling in the plant
• Design and implement processes and procedures for material handling. Define standards for delivery process types like SPS, JIS, JIT, etc
• Develop error proofing processes for kitting and part delivery
• Cooperate with equipment suppliers, packaging teams, manufacturing engineering and production teams
• Oversee and manage all material handling related issues for production shops
• Analyse key performance metrics. Monitor worsening trends, repeat issues and poor performance indicators
• Drive continuous improvement activities in responsible areas
• Be the contact person for inbound logistical issues in relevant projects
• Support development of inbound logistics concepts, including packaging, transport, external warehousing and information-flow, and fixation with suppliers via the PFEP (Plan for Each Part) sheet
• Report project progress to supply chain management as required

Requirements for the employee

Candidates with education suit the position

University education (Bachelor's degree)
University education (Master's degree)

Language skills

English - Upper intermediate (B2)

Other knowledge

AutoCAD - Advanced

Driving licence

B

Personality requirements and skills

• Significant experience as logistic engineer/engineering lead or senior engineer
• Advanced knowledge of logistic processes in the plant and material handling systems
• Good knowledge of OEM Plant processes and standards
• Ability to design technical solutions and lead their implementation
• General knowledge of vehicle manufacturing, manufacturing engineering and industry standards
• Ability to read CAD drawings and layouts
• Good knowledge in Lean Manufacturing and Lean Logistics
• Strong problem solving mind-set
• Knowledge of Press Shop, Paint and Trim line operations would be an advantage (for co-ordination of shipping activities)
• Business Proficient in English
