We have an exciting opportunity to work for a new automotive Company in the Nitra region. We are hiring for the position of STA - Supplier Systematic Improvement Engineer for Interior & Trim or Powertrain.
The STA function is responsible for the capacity and quality performance of all new product and current vehicle suppliers and performs an important role within the Purchasing Department. The supplier systemic improvement team are responsible for developing the underlying capability of the suppliers manufacturing and quality process and for auditing suppliers against company requirements.
Main Responsibilities:
Supplier Manufacturing Site Assessment – Existing Suppliers:
- Audit suppliers using the standardised company tool
- Work with suppliers to develop and deliver improvement planning against audit issues identified
- Validate action completion
- Communicate relevant risks identified to New Model Launch engineers, current car engineers & leadership
Supplier Manufacturing Site Assessment – Proposed New Suppliers:
- Engage with relevant Purchasing contacts to understand landscape of proposed new sourcing in commodity
- Audit proposed new supplier facility using standardised company tool
- Communicate result of audit with recommendation to source \ deny & discuss with senior STA \ Commercial leadership
Systemic Supplier Improvement & Development:
- Lead supplier site development to company quality Award Standard and to world class manufacturing facility standards
- Develop and deploy lessons learned from Launch & Current Car Quality \ Delivery across the supply base

- Proven history of applying standardised audit tools to manufacturing processes
- Knowledge of process improvement tools (Kaizen etc)
- Practical application of Lean Manufacturing tools and principles
- Experience in manufacturing \ quality \ supplier development functions of highly technical industries (Automotive, Aerospace, FMCG, Engineering)
- Self-motivated & able to work on their own initiative, often away from home office as the senior representative of the Company in a supplier facility
- Languages - Strong business knowledge of English required
- Full Driving license with no restrictions for driving within Europe
- Qualified to degree level within engineering or business discipline
- Experience as an internal \ external Lean consultant is desirable
- Willingness to undertake regular travel
- Knowledge of process improvement tools (Kaizen etc)
- Practical application of Lean Manufacturing tools and principles
